I don't know about you, but I need some distraction from what is going on in the world. My Social Media feed is causing me anxiety similar to early Covid times. The more I doom scroll the worse it becomes. So instead of spending time aimlessly posting pretty photos, because someone told me that's what businesses should do, I thought I would write my first blog and just share what brings me joy.
I've been running my shop in Dunedin for 18 months now and am proud of what it has become. It's hard to describe as there is nothing like it in town. The principles are Reduce, Reuse and Recycle so it is a curated mix of preloved, good quality new homewares and locally crafted upcycled items.
I buy what I like and what I can sell knowing that you are helping the planet in the process. I know where the items are made and what conditions they are made under. I'll get into detail in another post. This mix is what keeps it fresh; antique guardian lions (Fu Dogs) alongside preloved artwork that speaks to me, preloved lamp bases with a handmade new shade, vintage children's books next to new organic cotton tea towels or a Trade Aid basket.
